BABY SILK SCARF

Size:
Length 55” before fringe
Width 7”

Materials:
5 balls of Elann.com Peruvian Baby Silk (80% Baby Alpaca/ 20% Silk).
Size 5.0 mm (US 8) needles.

Gauge:
14sts = 4”
15rows = 4”

Note: the gauge and the pattern are knit with 2 strands of yarn held together and size 8 needles.

Pattern:
Row 1 k1 (selvage stitch)* k2 tog, yo* work to last st. k1(selvage stitch)
Row 2 k1, p to last st., k1
Row 3 k1,* yo, k2 tog*, work to last st., end k1
Row 4 k1, p to last st., k1.

Instructions:
With yarn held double and size 8 needles cast on 24 sts. Repeat rows 1-4 of pattern until 4 balls of yarn are almost used up. Bind off in k st. after row 2 or 4 in the pattern.

Finishing:
Cut 3 stands of yarn 16” in length and pull the 3 strands of yarn through with a crotchet hook where there are yarn over’s in the cast on row and the bind off edge. Knot the strands that you pulled through in half for fringe. Trim the fringe so it is even.
