MATERIALS
- 6 (7, 7, 8) balls of Color A, and 5 (5, 6, 6) balls of Color B of Filatura Di Crosa Sempre
- One pair of 4.5mm (US 7) needles, or slze needed to obtain gauge
- Stitch markers
- Stitch holders
- Four ¾" buttons
- Yarn needle

GAUGE
17 sts and 22 rows = 4"/ 10 cm in St st
TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

BACK
Using A, cast on 94 (106, 122, 134) sts; beg k2, p2 rib, beg with p2. Work even until piece measures 6" from beg, end wrong-side row.
(RS) Change to B and St st, dec 18 (20, 28, 32) sts across first row - 76 (86, 94, 102) sts rem. Purl 1 row.

Shape Waist: (RS) Dec 1 st each side this row, then every other row twice - 70 (80, 88, 96) sts rem. Work even for 7 rows.
(RS) Inc 1 st each side this row, then every 4 rows 4 times - 80 (90, 98, 106) sts. Work even until piece measures 15½ (15½, 16, 16)" from beg, end wrong side row.

Shape Armholes: (RS) Bind off 3 (5, 7, 8) sts at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row 1 (2, 3, 5) time(s) - 64 (68, 70, 72) sts rem.
Work even until armhole measures 8 (8½, 9, 9½)" from beg of shaping, end wrong-side row; pm each side of center 16 (18, 20, 22) sts.

Shape Shoulders and Neck: (RS) Bind off 5 (6, 6,6) sts, work across to marker, join second ball of yarn and bind off center sts, work to end. Bind off 5 (6, 6, 6) sts at beg of next row, then 5 sts at beg of next 6 rows and, AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge twice.

POCKET LlNlNGS (make 2)
With A, cast on 20 sts; beg St st. Work even until piece measures 9" from beg, end right-side row; break yarn and place sts on holder for Pocket.

LEFT FRONT
With A, cast on 49 (57, 61, 69) sts.
Beg Pattern: (RS) *K2, p2; rep from * to last 9 sts, K2, [p1 , k1] 3 times, k1.
(WS) P1, [p1, k1] 3 times, p2, *k2, p2; rep from * across.
Work even until piece measures 5½" from beg, end wrong-side row.

Work Pocket: (RS) Work 16 (20, 20, 24) sts as established, bind off next 20 (20, 24, 24) sts in pattern, work to end.
(WS) Work to bind off sts, continue in k2, p2 rib across sts from holder of pocket, work to end.
Work even for 2 more rows.
Beg Pattern: (RS) Change to B and St st, dec 6 (10, 10, 14) sts across to last 8 sts, pm for Placket, change to A, work across last 8 sts as established - 43 (47, 51, 55) sts rem.
Work even for 1 row, changing back to B after working first 8 sts.

Shape Waist: (RS) Continuing in pattern and color change as established, dec 1 st at beg of row this row, then every other row twice - 40 (44, 48, 52) sts rem. Work even for 7 rows.
(RS) Inc 1 st at beg of row this row, then every 4 rows 4 times - 45 (49, 53, 57) sts.
Work even until piece measures 14½ (14½, 15, 15)" from beg, end right-side row.
Note: Lapel and Armholes are shaped simultaneously.

Begin Lapel:
Row 1: (WS) Work to marker, remove marker, p1 with A, pm, change to B and work to end.
Row 2: Work to marker, change to A, p1, work to end.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 every 8 (8, 9, 10) times and, AT THE SAME TIME,

Shape Lapel: (WS) Inc 1 st in Lapel this row, every other row 12 (18, 15, 19) times, then every 4 rows 5 (3, 5, 4) times, as follows: Work to 1 st before marker, M1, p1.
Note: Work inc sts in 1x1 rib as they become available and, AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures same as Back to arm hole shaping, shape arm holes as for Back. Work even until arm hole measures 5½ (6, 6½, 7)" from beg, end right-side row.

Shape Neck: (WS) Continuing Lapel shaping as established, at neck edge, bind off 19 sts once, then 4 (5, 5, 6) sts 4 times - 20 (21, 21, 21) sts rern for shoulder. Work even until piece measures same as Back to shoulder shaping, shape Shoulder as for Back.

Faux Pocket: RS facing, with A, beg 1" in from armhole edge, pick up and knit 20 sts on same row as first armhole bind off; beg 1x1 rib as follows: P1, *k1, p1; rep from * across. Work even for 5 rows. Bind off all sts in rib. Sew side edges to Front.
Place markers for four buttons, the first at 4¼" from the bottom, the last on Row 1 of Lapel, and the rern 2 evenly spaced between.

RIGHT FRONT
Work as for left front, working button holes opposite markers, as follows: (RS) K2, p1 , k2tog, yo, k1, p1, work to end.

SLEEVES
With A, cast on 46 (46, 50, 50) sts; beg k2, p2 rib.
Work even until piece measures 2½" from beg, end wrong-side row.

Shape Sleeve: (RS) Inc 1 st each side this row, then every 4 rows 0 (0, 3, 12) times, and then every 6 rows 8 (11, 9, 3) times - 64 (70, 76, 82) sts. Work even for 1 row.
(RS) Change to B and St st, dec 8 (10, 12, 14) across first row - 56 (60, 64, 68) sts.
Work even until piece measures 18½" from beg, end wrong-side row.

Shape Cap: (RS) Bind off 3 (5, 7, 8) sts at beg of next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 2 (2, 2, 4) rows, 2 sts at beg of next 6 (6, 6, 6) rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row 3 times - 26 sts rem. Work even for 6 rows. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Bind off rern 12 sts.

FlNlSHlNG
Block pieces to measurements.
Sew shoulder seams.
Set in sleeves; sew side and sleeve seams.
Sew cast on end of Pocket Lining to WS of Front, 1/2 " below bind off Pocket edge.
Sew Lining side seams.

Collar: RS facing, beg at end of Lapel shaping on right Front, pick up and knit 49 (51, 53, 55) sts along neck shaping; beg 1 x 1 rib as follows: P1 (selvage st), *pl , k1 ; rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, p1 (selvage st).

Shape Collar: (RS) Inc 1 st each side every other row 9 times, as follows: K2, p1, k1, M1, work to last 4 sts, M1, k1, p1, k2 - 67 (69, 71, 73) sts. Work even until piece measures 7 (7½, 7½, 8)" from pick-up row.
Bind off all sts in rib. Sew edges of Collar to Lapel, leaving initial Lapel bind off and work even rows of Collar unsewn.
Sew buttons at markers.
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
