- 4.5mm (US 7) knitting needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Cable needle

GAUGE:
- 29 sts and 29 rows to 4" in Cable Pat.
TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
Note: When working shaping in Cable pat, if there are not enough sts to work cable, work in ribs as est.

BACK & FRONT: (work 2 pieces)
Cast on 118 (134, 150, 166, 174) sts.
Est Rib and Cable (WS): [P2, k2], pm, work row 1 of Cable Chart Pat, beg and end where indicated for size and working 56 st rep twice, pm, end [k2, p2].
Next row (RS): [K2, p2], work row 2 of Cable Chart Pat as est, end [p2, k2].
Work in pat as est until piece measures 14.5", end WS.
Note: Beg armhole shaping for all sizes now. Beg neck shaping when piece measures 14.5 (15, 15.5, 16, 16.5)" from beg.
Armhole shaping (RS): K2, k2tog, work in pat as est to last 4 sts, ssk, k2. Keep 3 sts each armhole edge in St st (change to 4 sts each armhole edge when last dec is made). Rep armhole decs every RS row for a total of 10 (14, 18, 22, 24) decs each side.
Neck shaping (RS): Cont armhole shaping AND AT THE SAME TIME, place a marker in center of work. Work in pat to 12 sts before center marker, k2tog, k1, p2, k2, p2, k3. Join a second baII of yarn and k3, p2, k2, p2, k1, ssk, work in pat to end. Work both sides at once and keep 11 sts each side of neck split in ribs as est (k the k sts and p the p sts).
Cont to dec 1 st each side of neck as est every RS row for a total of 22 decs each side.
Next (double dec) row (RS): K4, work to last 13 sts on first half, k3tog, k1, p2, k2, p2, k3. On second half, k3, p2, k2, p2, k1, s3k, work in pat as est to last 4 sts, k4. Keep 11 sts each side of neck in rib as est and 4 sts each armhole edge in St st and rest of sts in Cable Chart Pat, rep double dec row every RS row 2 times more AND AT THE SAME TIME, when armhole measures 6.5 (7, 7.5, 8, 8.5)", end WS and beg shoulder shaping.
Shoulder shaping (RS): Bind off 7 (9, 9, 11, 11) sts each shoulder edge 3 (1, 1, 3, 1) time(s), then 0 (8, 10, 0, 12) sts twice.
FINISHING:
Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams.

K1-b: Knit into back loop.
M1: lnsert LH needle, from front to back, into strand between st just worked and next st, k this strand through back loop.
SSK: SI 2 sts knitwise, one at a time, to RH needle; insert LH needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.
S3K: SI 3 sts knitwise, one at a time, to RH needle; insert LH needle into fronts of these 3 sts and k them tog.
SI1-k1-psso: Slip 1 st, k1, pass the slipped st over the k st.

Single Crochet (sc): lnsert hook into work, wrap yarn over hook and draw the yarn through work, wrap yarn around hook again and draw yarn through both loops on hook.
Double Crochet: Wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into work, wrap yarn over hook and draw the yarn through work, wrap yarn around hook and draw yarn through first 2 loops on hook, wrap yarn around hook and draw yarn through last 2 loops on hook.
dc2tog: [Wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into next st, wrap yarn over hook and draw the yarn through work, wrap yarn around hook and draw yarn through 2 loops] 2 times, wrap yarn around hook and pull through all loops on hook.
