MATERIALS:
- 10 (12, 14, 16) balls of Tahki Yarns Bali
- 6.50mm (US 10.5) needles, OR SlZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- Stitch markers
- Yarn needle
- 3 buttons, 19mm (0.75”)
GAUGE:
16 sts and 20 rows = 4"/ 10 cm in Textured stitch.
TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
PATTERN STITCHES:
Garter Stitch
Stockinette Stitch (St st)
TEXTURED STITCH: (multiple of 6 + 3 extra)
Rows 1 and 3: (RS) *K3, pl, kl, pl; repeat from * across to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2: P3, *k3, p3; repeat from * to end.
Rows 4 and 8: Purl.
Rows 5 and 7: *P1, k1 , p1 , k3; repeat from * to last 3 sts, p1, k1, p1.
Row 6: K3, *p3, k3; repeat from * to end.
Repeat Rows 1-8 for Textured stitch.
BACK:
Cast on 87 (93, 99, 105) sts.
Beginning on WS, work in St st for 2 rows.
Work in Garter st for 3 rows.
Beginning with Row 1, work in Textured stitch, dec 1 st each edge every 6 (8, 10, 8) rows 7 (6, 5, 6) times - 73 (81, 89, 93) sts.
Continue until piece measures 10 (10.5, 11, 11.5)" from beginning, ending with a RS row.
Shape Armholes
Beginning on WS and working in Garter st, bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 65 (73, 81, 85) sts.
Knit 1 row.
Work in St st until armhole measures 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5)".
Bind off.
LEFT FRONT:
Cast on 45 (51, 57, 63) sts.
Beginning on WS, work in St st for 2 rows.
Work in Garter st for 3 rows.
Beginning with Row 1, work in Textured stitch, dec 1 st at beginning of RS rows every 6 (8, 10, 8) rows 7 (6, 5, 6) times - 38 (45, 52, 57) sts.
Continue until piece measures 10 (10.5, 11, 11.5)" from beginning, ending with a RS row.
Shape Armhole
Knit 1 row on WS side.
Working in Garter st, bind off 4 sts at beginning of next RS row - 34 (41, 48, 53) sts.
Knit 1 row.
Next Row: (RS) Work in St st to last 5 sts, work 5 sts in Garter st for placket.
Keeping 5 sts in Garter st for placket and remaining sts in St st, work until armhole measures 5 (5.5, 6, 6.5)", ending with a RS row.
Shape Neck
Bind off 10 sts at beginning of next WS row for neck edge, 3 (3, 4, 4) sts once, 2 (2, 3, 4) sts once - 19 (26, 31, 35) sts.
Dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 3 (6, 7, 9) times - 16 (20, 24, 26) sts. Work in St st until armhole measures 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5)". Bind off.
Mark for 3 buttons evenly spaced in 5-stitch placket.
RIGHT FRONT:
Work as for Left Front, reversing shaping and placket placement and working buttonholes opposite markers on WS rows as follows: K2, yo, k2tog, work to end of row.
SLEEVES:
Cast on 39 (39, 45, 45) sts.
Beginning on WS, work in St st for 2 rows.
Work in Garter st for 3 rows.
Beginning with Row 1, work in Textured st, inc 1 st each edge every 4th row 1 (8, 1, 7) times, then every 6th row 12 (7, 13, 9) times, working new sts in Textured st - 65 (69, 73, 77) sts.
Continue until sleeve measures 16 (1 6, 17, 17)".
Bind off.
FINISHING:
Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams.
Neck Edging
With RS facing, join yarn at right Front neck and pick up and knit 74 (74, 78, 78) sts around neck edge. Work in Garter st for 3 rows. Bind off.
Sew in Sleeves, sewing last 1" of Sleeve to bound-off sts of Armhole. Sew side and Sleeve seams. Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.
Weave in ends.
